The Hertz Corporation HR Director (m/f/d) in Eschborn, Germany

Über Hertz

We are looking for an experienced HR Director (m/f/d) to support our German business. We offer flexibility but will expect the base to be our Eschborn head office (near Frankfurt).

You will be responsible for large scale change and transformation of our business and play an integral part in the International HR agenda.

Working as part of the German senior management team we are seeking a people leader who will provide clear and actionable advice across the full spectrum of HR responsibilities. This role will report directly to our VP HR International, working closely with the Local GM and will lead a small team of HR professionals to help drive change, shape the culture and establish a solid HR foundation so that Hertz Germany can scale and grow in a steady and sustainable manner.

  • Bring coaching expertise to support the leadership teams in their day to day people activities as well as from a leadership development perspective.

  • Build the infrastructure, policies and processes to ensure all people related activities are executed smoothly throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from on-boarding right through to off-boarding and beyond. Within a small team, you will continually seek to understand HR insights and gain efficiencies through the use of HR tech.

  • Be an advocate for Engagement by enabling effective ways of working, communication loops and actions that ensure cohesion across teams and the company as a whole

  • Nurture a culture and environment built for learning and growth. You will ensure all individuals and managers are constantly developing and learning in their roles. Work with the Leadership Teams to design and implement leadership and management development training programs and succession planning.

  • Legal & Compliance. You will oversee all Employee Relations and negotiations. Understand and manage how to deal with works councils and union representatives. Ensure consistent people management practices and legal compliance – Guide, train and direct management on the execution of HR policies and processes to ensure appropriate legal and corporate compliance

Professional Experience & Skills:

What skills are important to us?

The ideal candidate will have a qualification in HRM or other relevant education related to the HR field, with experience working at a Senior HR leader or Director Level. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

You should have high energy and thrive in a fast-paced and customer-focused setting where we work together as one team. Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills are key as well as stakeholder management.

In Addition, You Should Have

  • Strong knowledge of all activities related to the HR life cycle, and experience with Workers Councils, and HR operations.

  • Substantial experience of delivering on large scale change programmes

  • Strong experience in coaching and challenging senior leaders

  • Demonstrated business acumen and experience with labour law and regulations

  • Knowledge of change management practices and experience working with an organization in transformation and reorganisation

  • Strong leadership style to help manage, grow and develop a small team.

Skills:

  • Can take complex concepts and convey them to all levels of the business using language that is clear and precise.

  • Knows how to analyse organizational issues and to build strong and effective relationships with business leaders

  • Must possess the ability to influence and to push back in situations without a heavy reliance on formal authority

  • Needs to have a passion for continuous improvement

  • Have the experience and ability to work efficiently in a dynamic global business culture and in an international matrix organization

  • Good financial acumen

  • Good Business acumen
